Molen ‘De Vlijt’, viewed from along the canal in Meppel
De Vlijt (The Diligence) is a “smock mill” built in 2001 on the base of a “tower mill” that was originally built in 1859 but taken out of service in 1933 and demolished in 1965. Apparently the old mill was originally a mustard mill. For more information, see here, or here, or here.
