Wild Hyacinth (Camassia scilloides). We planted 36 bulbs in September 2021 (acquired from a nursery that specializes in plants native to North America) to help brighten a small bit of lawn in front of the house that tended to present a rather bleak appearance. We wanted this small space to be filled with flowers, and these seemed a good choice for spring bloom. They’re just starting to bloom this year; full bloom will probably appear in a week or so.
Despite superficial similarities these are not related to the Pine Barren Death Camas (Stenanthium leimanthoides) we found on Dolly Sods last year.
